The latest versions of Safari have hidden functions that allow you to clean the browser cache without deleting the history, cookie and other sites data. How and why do this, read below.
The development of the cache is primarily faced with developers and people testing sites. For forced loading new data from the server, they often have to clean the local cache. This is a very routine effect, but it can be made easier.
First of all, we must enable the developer menu. We go to the Safari settings, switch to the “Additions” tab and put a check box opposite the “show“ Development ”menu in the menu line.
The usual cleaning of the cache
Now it remains only to open the “Development” menu and choose “Clean cache”. After a few seconds, Safari will delete all cash files. Keep in mind that the browser will not give any dialogues of confirmation and will remove absolutely all cache.
Cleaning the cache with shortcut
The same can not be done by the Ryskaya by the menu, but by calling the function a combination of keys ⌥⌘e. We save time!
Cleaning and forced updating a separate page
When you need to clean the cache only for the selected page, the easiest way to use the usual update button. The secret is that it should be pressed with the holding of the SHIFT key.
Finder cache removal
Cash data, like any others, are in the bowels of the Mac file system, and they can be deleted as ordinary files. All of them are stored in the form of records of the SQLite database that can be viewed, changed and deleted.
In modern versions OS X, the cache is located in the ~/Library/Caches/Com folder.Apple.Safari/. It is recommended to delete individual notes or the database only if you understand what you are doing. If not, it is better to use the above methods.
