You will need literally a couple of minutes.
1. Find and download the font
First, find and download your favorite font to the computer. Many good options can be found on Google Fonts and other similar resources. Fonts are distributed in two main formats: Truetype (TTF) and OpenType (OTF). Both are suitable for both Windows and MacOS.
2. Screw the font file
Most likely, the font is downloaded in the form of an archive. It must be opened using 7zip, Winrar or another archiver and unpack, choosing the action of “extract”. As a result, you will get several font files.
3. Set the font
Photoshop uses system fonts, so, in fact, you just need to install them in Windows or MacOS, after which they will be available for the Text tool in the editor.
If you have Windows, open a folder with TTF- or OTF files, call the context menu and select “Install for all users”. You can just make a double click and click “install” in the window that opens.
If you use MacOS, just go to the folder with the font file, and then click on it twice and select “install the font”.
4. Restart Photoshop
In modern versions of Photoshop, fonts appear automatically immediately after installation. In earlier issues to update the list, it may be necessary to restart the editor. You can also just close Photoshop before installing the font.
5. Evaluate the new font
Open the program, switch to the “horizontal text” tool and try to write something. Highlight the word, open the list of fonts and select the newly installed.
By the way, the new font will be available not only in Photoshop, but also in Word and other applications on the computer.
