How to rinse injector nozzles with your own hands

How to rinse injector nozzles with your own hands

Effective ways to return the engine to its former power, reduce fuel consumption and the toxicity of the exhaust.

How nozzles arrange and work

Inside the case of the fuel nozzle is an electromagnetic needle valve. In a closed state, it is held by a return spring. When the pulses are filled from the electronic control unit (ECU), the valve opens to the excitation winding. At this moment, the fuel is sprayed and, mixing with the air, is burned in the combustion chamber.

The correctness of the proportions of the fuel mixture and its ignition depends on the quality of the spraying of gasoline. With normal operation of nozzles, the fuel is crushed into the smallest particles, it is easily mixed with air and burns.

Why nozzles clog

Fuel impurities, short trips and difficult operating conditions lead to the fact that carbon deposits form on the needle and internal surfaces of the nozzle. This raid clogs channels. The electromagnetic valve opens for a long time and more gasoline enters the combustion chamber than you need.

All this leads to re -enrichment of the fuel mixture, impairment of ignition and ignition passes. Uninhabited gasoline enters the exhaust system and burns out already inside the catalyst, which is clogged and melted at high temperatures. Along with this, the engine power is reduced, detonation appears, and the fuel consumption and the toxicity of the exhaust are growing.

How to understand that you need to rinse the nozzles

Car manufacturers recommend cleaning every 30 thousand kilometers. The appropriate errors on the on -board computer will tell you about problems in the work of nozzles. The same will show the diagnosis of fuel equipment in a car service.

But with a high probability, flushing is needed regardless of the mileage, if at least three symptoms from the list appear in your car:

  • bad launch (especially in winter);
  • unstable work at idle;
  • reduction of engine power;
  • slow acceleration;
  • failures when you press the gas pedal;
  • increased fuel consumption.

How to rinse nozzles with your own hands

Method 1: Fuel additive

A typical fuel additive bottle for washing / drive2.ru

The simplest and relatively soft cleaning method using special additives. More suitable for the prevention of deposits formation inside all elements of the fuel system – from gas tank to nozzles.

The disadvantage of such additives is that by car with high mileage they raise all the dirt from the gas tank and pipelines. As a result, filters and nozzles themselves are clogged, which leads to even more deplorable consequences.

You will need

  • The fuel additive of the injector.

How to do

  1. Pour the product into the tank immediately before refueling according to the proportions in the attached instructions.
  2. Operate the car as usual.
  3. For the best cleaning effect, it is advisable not to stand in city traffic jams, but to ride along the highway.

Method 2: Washing the nozzles on the engine

This cleaning method is more complicated, but also more effective. He not only launders nozzles, but also additionally excavations piston rings, and also increases compression. Washing is carried out on a neglected engine, which works on a moisture preparation instead of gasoline.

The main minus – the quality of the washing cannot be controlled. Of other shortcomings, one can distinguish the ingress of aggressive substances in the graduation tract and potential harm to the catalyst. After using some funds, you need to replace the spark plugs.

You will need

  • Injector cleaning tool;
  • fuel filter;
  • two -liter plastic bottle;
  • wire;
  • 1 m of the fuel hose with a diameter of 10–12 mm;
  • 3 clamps with a diameter of 9-14 mm;
  • 2 nipples from a free tire;
  • Bolt M12;
  • screwdriver or drill;
  • a drill with a diameter of 12½ mm;
  • tire compressor;
  • spark plugs (if their replacement is recommended in the instructions for washing).

How to do

  1. Drill one hole in the lid and bottom of the bottle. Install a nipple with a twisted valve in a lid. By nipple, the liquid will be supplied to the ramp.
  2. The second nipple assemble in the hole in the bottom. It will be needed to later pump air to create pressure.
  3. Put on the nipple in the lid one end of the hose, and install the second on the fuel filter, according to the arrow on the case. Tighten the ends of the hose with clamps. Wrap the bottle with wire so that you can hang.
  4. Warm up the engine to operating temperature and drown out it. Disconnect the fuel pump by removing the corresponding fuse.
  5. Get the engine. Let him work to suffer pressure in the ramp. Wait until the motor stalls.
  6. Disconnect the fuel supply hose from the highway and connect to the filter of an impromptu flushing receiver. Pour flushing into the bottle, close the lid and hang on the hood.
  7. If the car has a reverse fuel highway, drown it out using a bolt diameter and burn it with a clamp.
  8. Pour the air compressor into the bottle until the pressure reaches 2-2½ bar.
  9. Run the engine and let it work for 15 minutes at idle, maintaining pressure in the bottle at the same level.
  10. Drown out the motor and wait for about 15 minutes so that all the deposits are mixed up.
  11. Run the engine again and develop the remaining fluids, maintaining speed within 1,000-1,500.
  12. Remove the bottle, plug of the return and connect everything in normal mode. Do not forget the fuse.
  13. If the flushing is aggressive and affects the spark plugs, replace them.

Method 3: flushing with nozzles removal

The most difficult method that involves the removal of fuel ramp and nozzles. At the same time, the most effective and point – there is no harm to the other element of the system. For washing, the operation of the nozzle is imitated, and instead of gasoline, a means of cleaning carburetors is used.

Of the minuses of this method, only the difficulty of dismantling the ramp and nozzles, as well as the need to replace microfilters and sealing rings.

You will need

  • Aerosol tool for cleaning carburetors;
  • syringe 5 mm³;
  • 9-volt battery of the “Crohn” type;
  • 1-2 m of wires;
  • doorbell button or other without fixation;
  • 4 clamps of the “crocodile” type;
  • a screw with a diameter of 4 mm;
  • Passatigi;
  • nozzle remote control (only rubber rings and filter).

How to do

  1. Remove the throttle and fuel ramp. Disconnect the wires of the nozzles and take them out.
  2. Pour a few liquids for cleaning directly into the cap from the cylinder and place the nozzles there for 15–20 minutes to dissolve the carrier. The same cleaner can be washed by the throttle node while it is removed.
  3. Connect with wires with clamps of battery contacts and nozzle, observing polarity. Cut one of the wires and install the call button in the gap.
  4. Make an adapter from the syringe case, putting a thin end on an aerosol tube.
  5. Remove the microfilter from the first nozzle: plunge into the fuel channel of the screw and pull out with the pliers.
  6. Put on the nozzle syringe from the sprayer side. Put on the cylinder with a cleaner and at the same time press the bell button several times.
  7. Put on the nozzle on the back of the back. Press on the valve and intermittently press the call button until the liquid begins to spray with a uniform torch.
  8. Repeat the procedures from points 5–7 for each nozzle.
  9. Light tapping on weight replace filters and sealing gum.
  10. Install nozzles and ramp in place, collect all the details in the reverse order.
